Whos behind

Bernard Villaume
Bernard Villaume is the initiator and organizer of the Festival, which is supported by a number of foundations and by Hindsgavl Castle.

Bernard has led the festival since 2001 and has performed as an amateur pianist at the festival for 11 seasons in the period 1993 – 2004. Bernard is a civil engineer and brewmaster with a business background as a project manager and consultant, e.g. within the international brewing industry, with the European Commission and Maersk Line.

Ulrik Damgaard Andersen
Ulrik Damgaard Andersen has been associated with the festival since 2008  as a musical advisor and consultant. With his vast up-to-date knowledge of music and of Danish and international artists, he contributes to putting together the festival’s exciting programme.

Rubidus grew up with music and has a unique intuitive musical understanding, especially in new compositional music, where his sure instinct rarely fails. Rubidus assists with the listening of musical works and is at the center of the scale when the final programs have to be laid out.

Mathias Hammer
Mathias Hammer made his debut as a pianist at the Jutland Conservatory of Music in 2011, i.a. as soloist in Gershwin’s “Rhapsody in Blue”. As a pianist, he has dealt with both the classical repertoire and newer music. Mathias has played concerts in i.a. Scandinavia, Russia, Germany, Greenland, China and Argentina and since spring 2010 has been employed as a radio host and music broadcaster in DR’s P2. As the all-knowing and cheerful team captain on Danmarks Radio’s much-watched “Den Klassische Musikquiz”, he became in 2017 a  is-it-not-him-from-television? -personality.
Mathias is behind a number of podcast series on topics such as Carl Nielsen’s symphonies, which in 2015 were handsomely awarded a Prix Europe in Berlin, for “Best radio music program”. In 2017, he made a podcast series about NW Gade.
